Affordable and Free Clothing & Accessories Resources

Arizona 211 - Arizona clothing and basic needs resource database.

Career Clothes Closet - At Pittsburg State University in Kansas. Free interview outfit for students.

Council for Children - Free and low-cost clothing resources in Attleboro, Massachusetts and the surrounding area.

Craigslist Free Stuff - Choose your region and go to the free items category. People give away clothes and many other types of items.

DonateMyDress - Free prom dresses.  You can also donate a dress in person or by mail.

Dress for Success - Promoting economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Free Clothing Resources in Detroit, Michigan

Free Clothing Resources in Lansing, Michigan

Free Clothing Resources in Madison, Wisconsin

Free Clothing Resources in Massachusetts

Free Clothing Resources in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia

Freecycle Network - Join Freecycle (a Yahoo group) in your county to request clothing and other items you need that people are discarding and offering, and give away free items you no longer need (if you're in the UK join Freegle instead, which does the same thing). A great way to recycle, keep garbage out of the landfills, help save money and the planet.  This is different from barter or direct trading which can be taxable.  You do not direct exchange with others, but either give away free or get something free.

Hope Network - Free clothing and other social service resources in Wisconsin.

Julie's List - Free and low-cost clothing resources in Michigan.

Listia - This is a great place to get free clothes, jewelry, shoes, handbags, accessories, household and other items for all ages. They are purchased with credits that build up quickly - you can get them by completing free offers or filling out surveys, but unlike other sites my experience has been you can get a lot for a little, especially if you're careful as to what you bid on and when, as these are real people giving these things away.  You can also list items you want to get rid of to get larger amounts of credits. To get the most bang for the buck, bid on items ending at odd times like late at night.

Minnesota Recovery - Clothing and food assistance in the Twin Cities, St. Paul, Minnesota region.

One Father's Love - List of Sacramento, California area free clothes closets.

Opportunity Council - Clothing, emergency blankets, sleepwear, household goods and other resources around Bellingham, Washington.

Princess Project - California free prom dress program.

Rose City Resources - Oregon free clothing resources.

Seattle Crisis Resource Directory - Clothing banks and other resources in the Seattle, Washington area.

The Women's Alliance - A national organization of independent, community based members who provide professional attire and career skills training to low income women and their families seeking self sufficiency.

Thrift, Resale, & Consignment Shops - Low-cost stores for the value conscious with gently used and new clothing for kids and adults, as well as toys, household, and other items.
